Tessanne Chin is a Jamaican-born recording artist. She won season 5 of the show The Voice.

She is the daughter of Christine and Richard Chin. Her parents were in a band, The Carnations. Her sister is singer, songwriter, and dancer Tami Chynn (Tammar Annika Chin). Her father has Chinese and Cherokee Native American ancestry. Her mother is of Jewish, African-Jamaican, and likely other, descent.

She is a cousin of brothers Jay Hall, vocalist and guitarist with UK rockers Grassroutes and The Royal Players, and Leon Hall, a vocalist with ska-fusion act Electrik Custard. Her sister Tami is married to reggae and dancehall deejay Wayne Marshall.
