He is the son of Cynthia Lenora “Cindy” (Smith) and Frederick William “Fred” Luke.

Ned is married to a yoga instructor Amy Sax, with whom he has a son. They are pictured here.

Ned’s paternal grandfather was Robert John Luke (the son of Frederick William “Fred/Fritz” Luke and Emma F. Schultz). Ned’s great-grandfather Frederick was the son of German immigrants Carl Friederich Lück (later Charles Frederick Luke), of Kletzke, Prignitz, Brandenburg, and of Caroline Frederike Köhler, of Kleinwelsbach, Thuringia. Emma was the daughter of German immigrants “John F.” Schultz, of Stettin (now Szczecin, West Pomeranian Voivodeship, Poland), and of Elizabeth “Lissa” Ringler, of Darmstadt, Hesse.

Ned’s paternal grandmother was Marie Smith (the daughter of John William Smith and Antonette/Jenetta “Nettie” Storm). Ned’s great-grandfather John was the son of Charles Everett Smith and Mary Bianca McMillen. Nettie was the daughter of John Harvey Storm and Hannah Hiatt.

Ned’s maternal grandfather was Paul Birch (the son of Charles Henry Paul Smith and Leonora Sarah Lowery). Charles was the son of Henry Paul Smith and Sarah Ann America Henderson. Leonora was the daughter of William Walter Lowery and Mary Francis Florence Beck.

Ned’s maternal grandmother was Margaret Evelyn Farish (the daughter of Lawrence Buckner Farish and Cynthia Mims). Lawrence was the son of Edward Stevens “Big Ned” Farish and Ladonia “Donee” Patrick. Cynthia was the daughter of David Cullen Mims and Amanda Hasseltine “Hattie” Beard.
