American actress best remembered for films such as The Glenn Miller Story, Too Young to Kiss, My Man Godfrey, Little Women, Strategic Air Command, The Three Musketeers, The Bride Goes Wild, The Girl in White and Two Girls and a Sailor. The 1991 hollywood songstress book described 5ft1, as did 2000 Cinematic Century but I found a quote by June herself from June 1946 in the Milwaukee Journal where she stated that, "I'm exactly five feet tall but I tell people I'm 5 feet 1 inch. I wear high heels in 'High Barberie' because Van Johnson is so tall"
